In 1974, Dr. Richard Lefebvre, Sr. moved to Monroe after graduating from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon arriving in Monroe, he formed a partnership with a local veterinarian that would span over a decade. In 1989, Dr. Rick established Lefebvre Veterinary Medical Center located on Forsythe Avenue in Monroe. Dr. Susan H. Paul joined him in 1995; together they continued to maintain the excellent quality care and wellness services for their highly valued patients.
In February 2004, LVMC moved into a newly constructed hospital at 2412 Duval Drive. In this present facility, the doctors and staff have the space and the modern equipment to continue practicing progressive veterinary medicine. In December 2005, Dr. Richard Lefebvre, Jr. joined the LVMC team and was instrumental in the success of the hospital's American Animal Hospital Association accreditation. The tradition of excellence continued with the addition of Dr. Amy to the team in 2015.
